Parents

You are your child’s first and best teacher.

Parents have a special relationship as the first and probably best teachers of your children. We have developed Carlito C. Caterpillar’s MathHouse Games utilizing our proprietary Sensory Math Teaching System for you and your children. Our goal is to make it fun to experience and play games that instill the underlying concepts of Math. We help parents focus on playing games with their children – special games we have designed to demonstrate mathematical concepts to children as they play. If you focus on the game play your child will end up playing into math skills. It may take a few rounds of play, but if we’ve designed our games properly, your child will continue to enjoy playing.

JUST DON’T TELL YOUR CHILD THEY ARE LEARNING MATH WHEN YOU PLAY THESE GAMES. Early child development educators recognize that many young children under seven “turn off” when they realize “they are being taught”. You’ve probably experienced situations where during a great game or just a joyful walk with your child so many teachable moments occur. These may let you offer praise for politeness, or kindness to others. Overtime these moments can make a deep and lasting impression.

Our games work the same way by getting many of your child’s senses involved. Seeing, Touching, Hearing and sometimes even Smelling and Tasting. Carlito C. Caterpillar’s MathHouse games focus on the specific steps, in proper sequence and the path to understanding and enjoying Math. By engaging you and your child in these fun interchanges the learning is transferred. So if you play the games you can be confident the concepts will be planted.

And once learned in the game reinforce them now and then throughout your daily interchanges with your child. These pages will grow as parents share their successes with others and assist one another with challenges encountered.

Return frequently to help others as well as find new resources as we post extra game opportunities for each of our 20 steps along Carlito C. Caterpillar’s MathHouse path to learning Math.
